Another one hour train ride today, this time to Bath. This is where Jane Austen lived for a time and where the Jane Austen museum is located today - of which we most certainly made sure to visit. Also in Bath are ancient spas that were most notably used by the Romans. The baths are the only thermally heated waters in all of the U.K. These waters are what give the town the name of "Bath." An Abbey is located right next to Baths, and when it's quiet you can hear the choir music. But there were lots of great street performers and big crowds gathered around, so you couldn't hear it most of the time. I loved the atmosphere in Bath with all the sounds, fun shopping, and smells of great food!

| As you can see, all of the water was this green color. |
 |
| The birds also like it :) |

| A wishing pool | |

| Thought these were funny - Just a little history: these were called "curses" where if someone stole something of yours, you could write them a curse and give it to one of the gods that would "fulfill" that curse. It was funny to see how mad someone can get over a stolen bath robe! |
After our tour of the spas we headed to the Fashion Museum just up the street. It was a small gallery, but they had a great collection. The special display for this spring and summer was in celebration of the Royal Wedding; they showcased wedding gowns dating anywhere from the 1800s to to just a few years ago. My favorite:

| The date of this dress is 1939. |
 |
| I like this one too, but would like it better if it were all at one length. |
 |
| Loved this "dress of the year." The picture doesn't do it justice, sadly. |
 |
| Kind of cool, I thought! |
